ESA's Music Theatre Department presents the hit musical Mamma Mia! Set on a Greek island paradise where the sun always shines, a tale of love, friendship, and identity is beautifully told through the timeless hits of ABBA, featuring the Grade 11 and 12 classes.
On Orange Shirt Day, we have a reconciliation assembly attended by all of our students. The Musical Theatre students sing a few Indigenous songs, with the permission of Indigenous community members that oversee the assembly.
Before winter break, we have Festive: a show featuring many extracurricular numbers, and closes with all of our Musical Theatre students singing beautiful holiday-related songs and Hallelujah chorus.
We also have a yearly Showcase: a show focused on the Grade 9 and 10 Musical Theatre students as they put on numbers, with performances from extracurriculars as well!
The yearly musical is a highly anticipated event put on by the Grade 11 and 12 Musical Theatre students! It alternates between being a book musical and a revue show.
In addition, there are a few smaller shows that are grade-specific.
